Undiagnosed Sweden

Wilhelm Foundation and Rick Guidotti formed a collaboration in the autumn of 2018 when Rick Guidotti was in Stockholm after Prof Ann Nordgren asked wilhelm foundation round up undiagnosed children in Stockholm but also some in Gothenburg.

All the children with families and the Wilhelm Foundation gathered together with Ann Nordgren and Rick at BioClinicum, Karolinska University Hospital in Solna in a large bright hall. It quickly became small groups, who talked to each other. Rick wandered around photographing the children and their families.

Suddenly Rick was missing, then he was lying on the floor or climbing a stairwell to be with the child in their world while he was photographed.

Parents were so happy because Rick just saw their child in a way that no outsider has done before.

The following day, Rick was taken to Ågrenska outside Gothenburg, where he continued to photograph some undiagnosed children but also children with rare conditions.

So was born Wilhelm Foundation and Rick Guidotti's collaboration around photo projects The Undiagnosed much thanks to Ann Nordgren, Karolinska UDP.

Watching Rick take photographs is a pleasure because he is as engrossed in the child he was currently photographing. Here Rick climbed behind in the stairwell.  Photo: Rick Guidotti
